Understanding the Work

What is Tantra, really?

Tantra is an ancient spiritual path that honors the body, mind, and soul as sacred. It’s not just about sexuality — it’s about presence, connection, energy, and awakening to the fullness of life. In its essence, Tantra invites you to experience the divine through embodiment, emotion, intimacy, and stillness.

At The Heart Centered Being, Tantra is a path of healing, liberation, and remembrance.

Is Tantra just about sex?

No. While sacred sexuality is one aspect of Tantra, it’s only a small part of a much deeper spiritual tradition. Tantra is about conscious living — meeting all parts of yourself with love and awareness. That includes your breath, your emotions, your relationships, your shadow, and yes — your pleasure, too.

What is Somatic Facilitation?

Somatic facilitation is the art and practice of working directly with the body as the primary agent of healing and transformation. The word “somatic” comes from the Greek soma, meaning “body.” Where traditional talk therapy works primarily through the mind, somatic work recognizes that the body holds memory, emotion, trauma, and wisdom that the mind alone cannot access or release.

As a Somatic Facilitator, I guide people into a deeper relationship with their own body — through breathwork, mindful movement, conscious touch, nervous system regulation, and embodied awareness practices. The goal isn’t just insight. It’s genuine, felt, lasting change that lives in the body — not just in the head.

Somatic facilitation is grounded in the science of trauma, polyvagal theory, and attachment — and in my work, it is woven together with Tantric philosophy, breathwork lineage, and over two decades of embodied practice.

What’s the difference between Tantra and Somatic work — and how do they work together?

Tantra and somatic work come from different traditions but arrive at the same truth: the body is not a problem to be managed — it’s a portal to be entered.

Somatic facilitation works primarily with the nervous system — helping regulate, release, and restore. It’s clinical in its roots, trauma-informed in its application, and deeply practical in its results.

Tantra works with life force energy — the sacred current that flows through all living things. It brings philosophy, ritual, breath, and presence into the healing space, and sees sexuality, intimacy, and embodiment as pathways to the divine.

In my work they are not separate. The somatic foundation creates safety. The Tantric framework creates meaning. Together they create transformation.

How does Vedic Astrology fit into your work?

Vedic Astrology is one of the tools in what I call the Tantra Toolkit — a set of complementary wisdom systems that inform and deepen the work. Your Vedic chart can reveal patterns in your relational life, timing around major transitions, karmic themes you’re here to work with, and the energetic architecture beneath your personality and desires.

I use Vedic Astrology as a lens, not a script. It helps contextualize what you’re moving through and can add a layer of depth and meaning to your personal journey — especially when combined with somatic and Tantric work.

Who This Work Is For

Who are your ideal clients?

My clients tend to be people who feel things deeply — who have always been a little too much, or not quite enough, for the rooms they grew up in. They’re done performing belonging and ready to find the real thing.

More specifically, people come to me when they are:

  • Longing for deeper intimacy — with themselves, a partner, or life itself
  • Healing from trauma, heartbreak, or disconnection from their body
  • Curious about Tantra, sacred sexuality, or embodied spirituality
  • Ready to do real inner work — shadow work, emotional intelligence, conscious relating
  • Seeking a practice that honors all of who they are — body, mind, heart, and soul
  • Neurodivergent, highly sensitive, or someone who has never quite fit the mainstream wellness mold
  • Part of or curious about the conscious, queer, or alternative community

I work with individuals, couples, and small groups of all genders, orientations, and backgrounds. This is a space where you don’t have to explain yourself — you just belong.

Do I need to be in a relationship to work with you?

Not at all. Many of my clients come to this work on their own. Your relationship with yourself is the foundation of everything else.

Somatic and Tantric work is deeply valuable for individuals — whether you’re single, partnered, navigating a transition, or simply wanting to go deeper into yourself. If you are partnered, we can absolutely work together as a couple to enhance intimacy, communication, and sacred connection.

Is this work safe if I have experienced trauma?

Yes. Safety, consent, and emotional attunement are foundational to everything I do.

All of my sessions are trauma-informed and designed to meet you exactly where you are. You will never be asked to go anywhere you’re not ready for. Healing unfolds in layers, and I’m here to walk beside you with care, patience, and deep respect for your process.

My somatic training specifically equips me to work with nervous system activation, trauma responses, and the delicate territory of embodied healing in a way that is grounded, careful, and deeply attuned.

Sessions & Services

What happens in a private session with you?

Each session is unique, intuitive, and guided by your needs and intentions. Depending on what you’re working with, a session might include:

  • Breathwork and somatic awareness practices
  • Conscious touch or bodywork (always consent-based and fully negotiated)
  • Emotional release and trauma-informed support
  • Nonviolent Communication and relational coaching
  • Shadow work and Jungian archetypal exploration
  • Vedic Astrology insights and energetic alignment
  • Tantric philosophy, ritual, and transmission

This is a sacred space where you are fully seen, held, and supported. You set the pace. There’s no pressure, no performance — only presence.

Where do sessions take place?

The majority of my sessions are offered virtually via video call — which means I can work with you wherever you are in the world. Virtual sessions are highly effective for coaching, breathwork, somatic guidance, Vedic Astrology, and relational work.

I do offer in-person sessions for select clients, subject to my current location as a nomadic teacher. In-person sessions are available for an additional travel and preparation fee. Please inquire directly to discuss availability.

What online programs do you offer?

In addition to private sessions, I offer several ongoing and recurring programs:

  • The Compassion Project — my flagship 10-week online training in Nonviolent Communication, offered several times a year. This program is often a prerequisite for more advanced work with me. Learn more and enroll at TheCompassionProject.net
  • The Sacred Kings — ongoing men’s circle with monthly online meetings. Learn more at TheSacredKings.com
  • Tantra Unmasked — a live online journey into conscious connection, offered periodically throughout the year
  • Online coaching for individuals and couples available on an ongoing basis

No prior experience necessary?

None. Whether you’ve never heard of Tantra or somatic work before, or you’ve been on the path for years, you are welcome exactly where you are. My work is designed to meet you at your actual starting point — not where you think you should be.
