The Power of Reflection: My Year in Review
As the New Year approaches, I find myself drawn to pause and reflect on the past year. It’s a moment to honor the journey, acknowledge the milestones, and learn from the challenges—a practice I’ve come to deeply value.
This year has been rich with transformation, both personally and professionally, and taking the time to look back helps me set a meaningful course forward.
This year, reflection has been essential in my personal and professional growth. As someone deeply involved in facilitating growth for others—whether through my work with men’s group, Tantra workshops, or my newest obsessions in Vedic Astrology—I’ve realized that clarity, perspective, and gratitude are the cornerstone of transformation. Reflection is the bridge between where I was and where I hope to be.
Reflection requires stillness, and this year, stillness became a theme for me. During my daily meditation, I confronted the busyness of my mind and found peace by focusing on my breath. This practice has been one of my proudest achievements. It not only taught me the value of presence but also paved the way for deeper work, including bringing me profound emotional catharsis and clarity.
This year, I completed yet another Kundalini Yoga Teacher, bringing my total training hours to 500, a journey that required dedication and a willingness to face my own edges. It wasn’t just about earning a certification; it was about integrating what I’ve learned into my practice and embodying the principles I teach.
Navigating the dissolution of my marriage has been a defining challenge.
Although the relationship ended almost eight years ago I’ve been deeply reflecting on the unbalanced masculine dynamic within that relationship, I’ve grown to understand the importance of presence, groundedness, and holding space. This painful chapter pushed me to step into my own power and embrace vulnerability as a strength.
Facilitating men’s groups, offering various workshops and leading Tantra Speed Date have been deeply fulfilling. Witnessing participants grow, connect, and transform reaffirmed my purpose.
One standout moment was leading the ‘Magician Archetype’ workshop, where we explored manifestation and personal power within the realm of Tantra. A theme I look forward to repeating.
I’ve learned that resilience is not about avoiding pain but embracing it as a teacher. My journey through Tantra, shadow work, and spiritual practices has shown me the power of surrender and the beauty of transformation. I’ve also rediscovered the joy of creative expression through art, music, and fashion, reminding me of the importance of honoring all facets of my identity.
Several themes emerged this year:
Balance: From integrating masculine and feminine energies to balancing my professional and personal life, this theme was ever-present.
Vulnerability as Strength: This has been a cornerstone in my teachings and my own growth, especially in my men’s group.
Presence: The practice of being fully here and now has been a guiding light, especially during transformative retreats.
Concluding with Gratitude
As I look back, three things stand out that I’m profoundly grateful for:
Community: The Sacred Kings, Tantra workshops, and my broader network of seekers and students.
Personal Growth: The lessons learned through challenges and triumphs alike.
Opportunities to Serve: The chance to facilitate growth, healing, and connection for others is a gift I cherish.
Moving Forward
Reflection is not just a backward glance; it is a compass for the future. As I step into the New Year, I’ll carry the lessons and themes of this year forward. I’m committed to living authentically, embracing my edges, and holding space for others on their journeys.Every step this year, whether triumphant or challenging, has shaped who I am today. I honor this path, celebrate the growth, and step forward with gratitude and purpose, ready to embrace the opportunities and lessons the New Year will bring.
